222/365: Take You On a Cruise on Flickr.
Just got home from my cruise to Mexico yesterday. It was fun and a much needed get away, but I’m happy to be home.
This is the first time I’ve used a fisheye for self-portraits. Shot with the old fart D80 balancing on top of a flimsy tripod since my nice one is too heavy to travel with. This is not as clean as I would like it to be…but it was my first day on the ship and I was feeling a little lazy. Plus it was windy as hell on the little balcony so I gave up after a couple of tries. More from the trip to come.
I can’t believe there’s only one week left of summer before school starts up again. :( I hope I can keep up when the semester starts.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
HOME AT LAST. I’ve been camping in Mexico for the past couple days.
I have never been so happy to see my bed. Or go barefoot in the shower. Or rinse my toothbrush in the sink!
Time to get on track. Uploading through the night…more to come. :)

Today while I was running Florence and the Machine came up on shuffle (and inspired this photo).
I saw the band perform live in December and I can say with confidence that Florence is the most graceful, beautiful and exuberant person I have ever come across. It was almost like she floated across the stage…and that voice is one of a kind.
I went into the thrift store near my house and bought this sheer cape. I love the way it picks up in the wind. :)
Another attempted expansion. The sky is real!

Happy 100 days! :) I can’t believe it snuck up so fast.
I’ve had this idea in my head for awhile but I needed some assistance transporting the chair. Andrew helped me out again. I lost my balance a couple times and almost ate shit. He laughed.
This field is infested with snails. The only thing to fear in this snail utopia is me stepping all over them. There were many…many casualties today. Do not leave your shoes unattended in this field. Five or six of them decided to camp out in mine. Ew.
I attempted stitching again..seven photos this time. One day I will be really good at this (hopefully).

Didn’t get a chance to upload this the other day. Forgot what it’s like downtown on a Saturday night.
We touched the walls of the city streets and
Dead ends plain, sadly showed us our ways
Of never asking why
Cast down it was heaven sent and
To the church, no intent to repent on my knees
Just to cry
Until you travel to that place you can’t come back
Where the last pain is gone and all that’s left is black
Black- Danger Mouse & Norah Jones

Another long day on the mountain. Making the six hour drive back home tomorrow…I’m going to miss the beautiful scenery up here.
Almost ran out of daylight to shoot today. Nearly froze to death too.

A beautiful day spent in Julian with good company.
I was driving most of the day but it was so worth it. Me and my friend Amanda explored Lake Cuyamaca, multiple view points and private property.
The nice, gooey carmel apple at the end of the day completed the trip. :)

Musical Inspiration: Swallowed in the Sea- Coldplay
Oh what good is it to live
With nothing left to give
Forget but not forgive
Not loving all you see
Oh the streets you’re walking on
A thousand houses long
Well that’s where I belong
And you belong with me
Not swallowed in the sea
