214/365: Up With the Birds on Flickr.
The birds they sang, at break of day.
“Start again”, I hear them say.
It’s so hard to just walk away.
The birds they sang, all a choir,
“Start again a little higher”.
It’s a spark in a sea of gray.
Don’t be deceived…it is tourist season in San Diego and this beach was packed. I would have never even considered this location 6 months ago. I have overcome my fear of shooting in public…now I will set up wherever, whenever. :)
Hope my editing experimentation isn’t throwing anyone off.
213/365: Amazing Life on Flickr.
It’s good to feel alive
Feel alive, feel alive
This amazing life
This amazing life
Relax it’s easy, relax it’s easy
This amazing life
I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of shooting during the golden hour…I hope you guys don’t either.
My pants now have snail guts all over the seat of them. -_-
212/365: Give up the Ghost on Flickr.
These didn’t really turn out how I envisioned mostly because the light slipped away in about two minutes. I guess there’s good days and bad days. At least I found a new spot I’ll be returning to. :)
I printed two 24X36 of some of my landscape pictures. It’s kind of surreal…and nerve racking to see them that big. I’m not 100% satisfied with them, then again I don’t have a lot of experience with printing. Trial by error.
211/365: Mr. Blue on Flickr.
I told you that I love you
Please believe me
Wearing cream colored flats to the muddy lake probably wasn’t a great idea. It sure was a hike getting down to the shore…the peace was worth it.
Used like…20 layers for this. x_x
210/365: Lazy Eye on Flickr.
I think the most difficult part of this project is being consistently creative. Creativity only comes to me in spurts. But I guess that’s part of the challenge.
209/365: The Hindu Times on Flickr.
There’s a light that shines on
Shines on me and it keeps me warm
It gimme peace I must say
I can’t sleep cos the world won’t wait
I’ve decided to continue the concept of time for the remainder of my project. Did not pay attention to the way the clock was pointing…sorry.
I hate how small this looks…Lightbox this shit or you’re missin out.
207/365: A Rush of Blood to the Head on Flickr.
Sunset cliffs is officially my favorite location to shoot. I always find new wonders ever time I go.
I saw one of the best sunsets of summer today. The whole sky was glowing orange and I think (?) I witnessed my first green flash. :)
206/365: Shoplifters of the World Unite on Flickr.
Andrew was trying to teach me stick one night late in the Costco parking lot (huge fail). There were a million silver shopping carts lined up under the overhang that looked pretty cool. So we decided to go back again last night after it closed for this shot.
Unfortunately, the cart guy decided to leave the carts scattered around the parking lot. We drove to find another one a couple miles away. There weren’t as many carts and they were all red and white…oh well.
Some passerby tattled on us to the employees so they came out to see what we were up to…no drugs or booze. Just a camera and tripod. They laughed and went back inside. :)
I couldn’t get rid of the yellow cast from the streetlights so black and white will have to do.
Remember Me as a Time of Day on Flickr.
Just an extra from today.
205/365: Little Bird on Flickr.
She’s like a little bird
She flies from a to b
To see what she can see
She’s far away from me
We danced on the moon
We danced by the sea
That land of blue gold
Is where we were free
Where we were free
Where we were free
Had to dodge some golfballs for this. I love how the grass lights up during the golden hour.
I really liked how the photos turned out today…I might upload another one just because I want to edit them. View large. :)
204/365: Turn Up the Sun on Flickr.
We went hiking in Mission Trails again. Saw another rattlesnake and screamed like a girl…
203/365: New Born on Flickr.
Another one from last night at the convention center that I thought was really cool. Plus I laid down on these dirty stairs…
I’m only 3 days behind.
202/365: Neon on Flickr.
When sky blue gets dark enough
To see the colors of the city lights
A trail of ruby red and diamond white
Hits her like a sunrise
She comes and goes and comes and goes
Like no one can
- John Mayer
I didn’t feel like rushing to catch the light today and I’ve been dying to test the MKII at night. This one was taken at the top of the convention center downtown. 1000 ISO and NO NOISE! This is a foreign concept to me.
201/365: Blindsided on Flickr.
Still thinking about it…I’m way too tired to edit right now. Poor roses have seen better days.
200/365: Six Days at the Bottom of the Ocean on Flickr.
Day 200…is this real? The progress I’ve made since I started this project is truly astounding. I never believed I could grow so much in as little as six months.
I had a concept involving balloons planned for this. I went to Vons and asked for 12 rainbow balloons only to be informed there is a “nation wide helium shortage.” Not sure if I believe this since there were THOUSANDS of balloons at pride.
This looked awesome in black in white too, but I’m a sucker for blue. I stepped on a dead jellyfish…ew. And yes, I did buy roses for myself.
I have to go take my picture for today before I lose the light. See ya later. :)
