PAIGE NELSON

My name is Paige.

I'm an aspiring photographer with an insatiable curiosity and an appetite for the fantastic.

This blog is dedicated to my greatest passion- photography. All of the photos on here are mine unless otherwise stated.

Today was an overall good day. :)
This shoot was so frustrating. The remote wasn’t working and the light faded quickly. Miraculously, the days when I’m about to give up are the ones when I can actually produce something decent.
No time to shoot for myself yesterday since I was at a wedding. I won’t be posting anything here, but you can check my Facebook page in a few days if you’re interested.
Tomorrow: My first article for the paper is running front page, my last day of work and MY MARK II WILL BE HERE.
 I’m not excited or anything…

I meant to upload this on the fourth of July, but this whole week has been hectic for me.
I’m sure all you Americans heard about the firework fail that happened in the San Diego Bay…if you blinked you missed it…over in 15 seconds.
I called out of work (oops!) and caught another show in the area. I enjoyed my front row seat while eating some bbq salmon, corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. Mmmm.
Andrew and I stuck around after everyone left the parking lot so I could shoot this. I cracked 30 glow sticks and made my own fireworks. Not exactly how I wanted it to look but oh well. I can’t wait until my Mark gets here so I can reshoot stuff like this…I get grain if I shoot above 640 ISO on the D80. Not the business.

Oh, say say say

Wait, they don’t love you like i love you
Left Six Flags just in time to catch the fading light. Perfect way to end an amazing day. :)
Going to the Delmar Fair tonight!

Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova in the sky
Wake up the dawn and ask her why
A dreamer dreams, she never dies
Oasis
Time crunch…more flowers for you.

Lost but now I am found
I can see but once I was blind
I was so confused as a little child
Tried to take what I could get
Scared that I couldn’t find
All the answers, honey
Don’t make me sad, don’t make me cry
Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough
I don’t know why
Keep making me laugh,
Let’s go get high
The road is long, we carry on
Try to have fun in the meantime
Lana Del Rey
The netting from top hat inspired me to do a black and white. This is the only photo I took today.

Didn’t have much time to be creative today…the shots in my room feel like they’re getting a little repetitive. Just wanted to show off my new vest. :)
Got out of work waaay later than I expected to. I don’t know how but now it’s around 4 in the morning and my eyes feel like they’re going to bug out of my head. Tomorrow is my last day off of work before break ends…going to make it count. Good night! Err…good morning?

65 days?? Only 300 to go! Here’s some more magic bokeh and flying hair for you.
I was a nice surprise to find an invitation to Getty Images in my Flickr mail this morning. :) Kind of a random selection of my work if you ask me but that’s ok.
I went into Michael’s today for some photo props. It’s kind of funny when you’re in the check out line and you look in other people’s shopping carts. Most of the time it’s a random assortment of strange objects that have nothing in common.
P.S. Explosions in the Sky may be one of the greatest instrumental bands I’ve ever heard.

I feel like I’m dying. Maybe that’s a little dramatic but I’m really sick. :(
Isn’t it funny how people pretend to feel sorry for you and then avoid you like you are the plague?
Believe me, I would much rather spend all day in bed away from everyone.
Still experimenting with textures, layers and the works. Give me all your feedback.

Some of my favorite photos end up being the ones where I have no clue what I’m going to do. Then I just kind of make something up out of nothing.
Long day at work. Sometimes my job makes me question the intelligence of the human race.
Now I’m being set up on a blind date…better get ready! Here goes nothing.

Late upload…it was a rough day at work last night.
This is the first time I’ve used the 18-135mm since September. I think I’ll be using it more often.

Kiss Me on Flickr.Via Flickr:Kiss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly, beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress.
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon’s sparkling
So kiss me
Kiss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We’ll take the trail marked on your father’s map
Kiss Me- Sixpence None the Richer

Bittersweet Melodies on Flickr.Via Flickr:Whispers in the grass
Under slow dancing trees
Birds were telling me stories
Saying you were meant for me
With their bittersweet melodies
Like a sweet memory
Bittersweet melodies
Can’t go back can’t go on
Without those bittersweet memories
Creaking kitchen floor
Snow slips under the door
Tiny speakers were singing
Telephone always ringing
With those bittersweet melodies
Like a sweet memory
Bittersweet melodies
Can’t go back can’t go on
I remember us
Before we turned to dust
Just what our feelings were all about
When we still could trust
In our hearts
Bittersweet memories
Like a sweet melody
Bittersweet memories
Can’t go back can’t go on
Both of us singing that same old song
Without bittersweet memories
Like a sweet melody
Bittersweet memories
And it seems oh so long since those
Bittersweet melodies played for me

Wait It Out on Flickr.Via Flickr:
Not dead just busy!
Back with a new lens. Welcome to the family 50mm f/1.4 :)Where do we go from here?
How do we carry on?
I can’t get beyond the questions.
Clambering for the scraps
In the shatter of us collapsed.
That cuts me with every could-have-been.
Pain on pain on play, repeating
With the backup makeshift life in waiting.
Everybody says: “Time heals everything.”
But what of the wretched hollow?
The endless in-between?
Are we just going to wait it out?
